spilled water, essential oils and disc golf...

yep, that's right, I was taking a drink from my cup before I started to type this post and sure enough it spilled it right down the front of me... Happy Thursday! :) I am still fighting a cold, but each day I feel better, yet worse. I'm hoping though that it means I'm nearing the end. One thing that has been helping is my diffuser from Simply Earth! I am so glad I found this company. They have great oils at a reasonable price and they support a great cause with each sale. Their immunity boost has been helping me feel better at work. The best part is I get a new box of oils and fun recipes at the beginning of each month. Can't wait to see what comes in January. I'll be sure to share it :) I am so ready for winter to be over already! haha. Mostly because I'm ready for Disc Golf season to start up again! Both my husband and I got new discs for Christmas, and I got a new bag! So I'm itching to get out there again and throw! Some of the discs are new to me so I'm looking forward to seeing how they work out! A few years ago I never thought I would actually enjoy playing. As the wife of someone who has disced for many years, it was very intimidating to play with him and his friends. One day, however, we went out with his sister and I didn't feel so awkward about my game, and I began to enjoy playing. I am still not near the level of player that my husband is (probably never will be) but there are still times that I have managed to beat him on a whole or two. We are both in it to have fun and enjoy the sport together. I remember the first time I ever played was when I lived in Grand Rapids MI and a couple of friends invited me to go. I had no clue what disc golf was or how to play, much less how to throw a disc. It was a rough round and because I did so bad, was never really interested in trying to play it again. Fast forward to present day, and now I can't wait for winter in MI to be over so I can get back out there. I love that my husband and I can share similar interests and do things that get us out of doors and enjoying time together as well as staying active and going to lots of really beautiful courses. Our honeymoon and vacations tend to center around where we can play disc golf... Here is to 2017! May it be a great year of continuing to be happy, healthy, active and enjoying the everyday moments that make life special.

New Year...

It seems I post on this about once a year, if that, so this year I'm going to change that. I'm going to begin to write out my thoughts and share bits and pieces of myself again. Life is about struggle, but it is also about joy and finding the good in all situations. This year I have much to be thankful for. My husband and our new fur baby, our families, my job and work family, our home... When I think back on last Christmas, it seemed like I was trying to fill my home with gifts and stuff to make it feel like christmas and it did to a point, but this year we kept it simple. My husband and I are making this a year to get out of debt and that included not going overboard this Christmas. and you know what I learned. That it was really nice having one meaningful gift to exchange that the whole house of gifts we gave last year. This year we don't have as much to go around financially, but what we do have is love and each other. Our fur baby was our main christmas gift this year and you can't put a price on having a companion like a dog to help bring fun and joy to a home. This is the year to downsize, to pay down our debts, to get out and enjoy the out of doors more, to kayak and disc golf, to take a couple of vacations, to enjoy cooking and baking again, to get healthy and to raise our dog and hedgehog. Its going to be a busy year, but if I can look back on it a year from now and have photos and memories of these things and I can say that my life is good. :) I'm not setting official new years resolutions, but I am setting personal goals for my life and the life of my family. To all that are needing a fresh start this year, I wish you hope and strength to set and live out some goals. To find beauty everyday in the small things and to always find something to give thanks for. Find music that speaks to your heart and encourages you, find quiet times to refresh your spirit/soul, and take time for yourself. In the midst of giving everything you have for your families, be sure to take time for you too... This is my journey, I hope to share it with anyone that will read this blog and I hope that it can be an encouragement to someone as well as myself. Love!
