I am nearing the end of a 5 day vacation from work. It's been a great time. No, I didn't travel anywhere, just put some time into my much neglected house, spending time with my dog and re-watching all of the Harry Potter movies. I am trying to squeeze in the last one tonight. :)
Through may walks with my dog and using that time to think and plan, I ended up signing myself up for college classes. So, if I can get my student aid figured out, I may be taking classes this fall?!
It would be a first for me to finally want to gain certification in a specific area of study, but I do love my job and want to learn all I can to do it more efficiently. One should never stop learning!
I have set some high goals for myself this year.... work as many jobs as needed to get out of debt, go back to school and continue to build a natural home for me and my family.
I am super excited to be partnering up with Simply Earth as an ambassador for their company. They sell 100% pure essential oils and also give back to organizations that help to stop human trafficking.
I have been using their oils for a little over 6 months now. It took me a long time to find a company I trust. I had a cancer scare a year and a half ago and have since been on a mission to rid my life of any chemically based product that I can. I switch my deodorant, shampoo/conditioner, toothpaste, laundry detergent, lotion, body wash, hand soap, dishwasher tabs and liquid and started to eat more organic foods as well as got rid of all my scented candles and air fresheners (this was probably the hardest one for me and what drove me to essential oils in the first place). All of these changes have helped to reduce my risk and live a healthier life. I still have a long way to go, but finding Simply Earth and signing up for their essential oil subscription box has been a big help. Not only do you get the oils, but you get recipes for things to make with the oils and item to help you make them! And its all for a very affordable price.
I know when you are searching for essential oils its hard because you want to find ones that are affordable, but yet pure. Most people have heard of Young Living or doTerra, but I found these to be outside of my price range and I didn't like needing to go through a "middle-man" to get them.
I had tried a few other companies, and they have good oils in a price range I could afford, but then I came across, Simply Earth, and I could relate to their story and to the fact that they truly wanted to be world changers. And it's not just spreading the word to buy their oils, its spreading the word that every time you purchase something from them, you are helping to change the world too. Together we can make a difference.
I encourage anyone reading this blog to look them up. and if you would like a free bottle, please use my coupon code: cynthiaolgrenfree
You will still have to pay for shipping, but you can get an oil free (up to $10 - which most of them fall into this price range)
I use Lavender for so many things, but one of my favorite uses is to put 3 or 4 drops on a wool dryer ball (also available from Simply Earth) in my dryer to make my clothes smell great! I also love lavender in my body wash/shampoo.
I can't wait until the fall to try out different diffuser blends to make my house smell like the holidays!
So I hope that through my blog and social media, I can help to share my experiences with you in hopes that someone reading this will be able to make some choices that lead them to a more natural life free from all the chemicals we put on our bodies and surround ourselves with. I was one that always had to have the bath and body works shower gels and lotions and candles, and its been a process to let go and go natural, but I'm sure glad I did.
Tomorrow its back to work, and I do believe I will be taking a diffuser blend to help keep my spirits up!
