life changes....

as i come upon my 1 year wedding anniversary, i am ready to move forward and begin new chapters of life with my husband. i just recently left my job for a new and exciting adventure with Prost Wine Bar and Charcuterie. This is a new business in Frankenmuth and I am super happy to be joining their team! I'm also balancing 2 other jobs on top of that to try and get back on our feet after some down time from work for my husband. some of that was by his choice, some not, but even when you aren't sure how bills are going to get paid, you stay hopeful that everything will work itself out in the end.... even if that means working 65+ hours a week and never having a day off. in the end you do what you have to do to survive and be thankful that you have those 3 jobs to help. uncertainty is scary, but it can also be a time of reflection and moving on to bigger and better things. sometimes the past holds us back in ways that we never were able to see while still in the midst of the fog... but now that the sun is coming up and the horizon is starting to show itself, you can see the beautiful sunrise and cling to the hope that everything has a purpose and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel... even if it is a long tunnel. so as august 10th approaches, and a new year begins for my husband and i, i am trying to remain hopeful that this will be a year of new and exciting adventures. where the future is prepping to take us, only time will tell. today i hung up my apron as a baker and am embarking on an adventure as chef at Prost. this means learning a whole new set of skills, but that is the exciting part!

Nutri-bullet and a new year :)

So I've decided now that I'm married to start blogging again. And what better place than here, my old blog. Which I think could stand a revamp. I'm so happy for a new year. No wedding to plan, just enjoying life together with my husband :) I've been wanting a nutribullet for some time now, probably since registering for wedding gifts. Well I finally got one yesterday and with three smoothies in, I have to say I'm pretty impressed! I can't wait to experiment and try all kinds of recipes and in the process cut out refined sugars and sweets. That is a resolution of mine this year. Another surprise of the day is getting to come back home from work because a coworker thought they had to work too. Haha. Sure, I'll take a day off with my husband :) of course he is still sleeping, so maybe ill squeeze in some assassins creed before he wakes up!
